Boston!

I'm driving back from from Boston and had a great day today. My last post was written a while ago but got posted late because of this awesome reception here in New Hampshire. Boston was so much fun, I haven't been since 10 years At least and this visit was much better than I remember it being.

Camp and my 10 boys are doing well. Tomorrow is visiting day for their families so that should be interesting, to say the least. I am excited to see where these kids get all their craziness from. We start the day with a hike and then the parents should be arriving afternoon time. Should be entertaining.

Hopefully the weather continues to warm up and the rain will cease to fall. Thursday ended with one of the craziest hail storms I've ever seen, but we all survived. Everything is picking up pace and starting to become more routine and I'm beginning to feel much more comfortable at camp and with the boys.

I'll try to continue to update the blog as I can and as I find internets.

Montreal

Today I went to Montreal with some friends! We left Burlington VT at about 7am local time and arrived in Canada about 2 hours later. Montreal was amazing and we had so much fun! We wales around old town and saw the entire countryside which is beautiful. I love Montreal, both times I have visited have been epic and so memorable! I hope to make it back someday, but for now am content with NH and CWW. I anticipate tomorrow will bring more challenges and the kids will continue to test me as best they can.

Burlington/Montreal trip

I get my first day off tomorrow and just got into Burlington VT with some friends. Headin up to Montreal tomorrow to see some sights and canadians! Camp is coin well but the weather is still wet and cold all day everyday. Hopefully I'll get some more time to update this more often from now on. Hope everyone is well back home, see yall eh!?

Campers Have Arrived!!!

Yesterday was amazing and completely overwhelming at the same time!

My Co-counselors are Dan (from Mass.) and Eric (from NH) Our campers arrived yesterday at about 3pm ET on a bus from NY. Our cabin is 2A and we have the oldest cabin in the camp. It is located right off the lake in the center of camp and the floor is tilted like a funhouse. We share bathrooms with cabin 2b which is attached onto the other side of our cabin. Our back porch overlooks the lake and it is an amazing view to wake up to each morning. The beds are awful, and my energy is constantly running out, but each day has been awesome and provided me with something I have never before experienced. I am so excited for each day to start and cannot wait to get more involved with my campers.

I have 10 boys, all between the ages of 7-9. Two boys are from Conn. and one is from NJ. The rest are all from NY, several from NYC. They have already picked up on my slight accent from Texas and think the fact that I say ya'll all the time is hilarious. I believe it to be the most efficient way personally. There have been waaaaaay too many piggy back rides already but we are all have a great time and those who have already cried and miss their parents are starting to adjust. This summer is going to be much more work than any of the counselors anticipated, but we are prepared and excited. More to come later!

Orientation

Orientation ends tonight. We have a night off in west Lebanon and the campers arrive tomorrow morning. I am writting on my phone for the first time ever and hope of works. I am survivng and having so much fun. Hope everyone is doin' well! Hope to update more soon.

I can outrun a bear...right?

I have just created this blog in hopes of keeping in touch as much as possible while I volunteer myself for the entire summer up in New Hampshire at a Coed Summer Camp and then continue my travels to Paris.

I have discovered that internet access will be somewhat limited and cell phones receive no signals up in the White Mountains. I have yet to see a phone commercial that takes place in the White Mountains, so it should be interesting living in a "dead zone." I plan to update this blog fairly regularly in order to cut down on expensive phone bills that will most likely become inevitable as the summer progresses and people realize how much they miss me (I hope?).

I encourage everyone to post comments and share their ideas, I hope that this blog can become extremely interactive between my friends, family, co-workers, and yes...creepers.
